Why 1525?

1525 is inspired by the Salviati Planisphere world map drawn in the year 1525.

While other maps of that time, reflecting the cultures of the time, intimated a complete understanding of the world, the creator of the Salviati Planisphere was willing to concede there were parts of the world still unknown, thus leading to further exploration and the pursuit of understanding. 

That mindset is equally important today.
